Hi, I’m Shana Sommer, founder and executive director of Blazin’ Trails Bottle Babies. I started this rescue after taking in my very first orphaned puppy, Blaze — a tiny newborn missing a leg who needed around-the-clock care. That experience changed everything.
What began as one bottle baby grew into a full rescue dedicated to giving orphaned and sick newborn puppies a fighting chance. Since then, I’ve cared for hundreds of neonatal puppies, trained countless fosters, and helped build a supportive community united by a shared love of puppies.
Through this training program, my goal is to help you feel confident, supported, and prepared to care for these vulnerable babies.
