April was our busiest month yet. With 24 new intakes, our team faced one of the highest surges in orphaned neonatal puppies since the beginning of the year. These fragile lives arrived in critical condition—many just hours old, abandoned, or born with complications. While we sadly lost 6 puppies, we also saw encouraging signs: a survival rate of 73.1%, showing a slight improvement from previous months.
This progress is no accident. It reflects the tireless work of our fosters, who are growing more confident and skilled with every litter. It’s the result of around-the-clock feedings, warming pads, oxygen support, and the hard choices made to prioritize those most likely to survive. And it’s because of supporters like you, who allow us to keep our shelves stocked and our fosters trained.
We also celebrated 6 adoptions in April—six tiny fighters who beat the odds and are now growing up in loving forever homes.
As the need grows, so does our mission. We now have 66 puppies currently in rescue, receiving individualized care and love until they’re ready for their next chapter. With summer approaching and intake numbers expected to rise, we are actively seeking new fosters and increased support to meet the demand.
